About the Artist

Picture
I was born on July 23rd, 1993 with my twin sister, Bridget. After my parents separated, my mother took my sister, brother, and me from Prince William County, Virginia to live with her fiance in Staunton for two years. After my mother's passing, my sister and I moved in with my brother and dad in Fauquier County, Virginia. Now I reside in Harrisonburg and hold a BFA in Fine Art from James Madison University.
It's not easy for me to define my artwork. Making art has given me a space to transform my difficulties into something filled with color and hope. Artmaking is a mode of exploration for me and the destination lies in the deepest corners of my mind. It's where one can connect and relate to others as well as gain a better understanding of one's self. My work uses elements from surrealism to piece together themes of love, healing, and most importantly, hope.

If you're interested in my work or just want to chat, you are more than welcome to get in touch with me here!

The receiver of a true artistic impression is so united to the artist that he feels as if the work were his own . . . as if what it expresses were just what he had long been wishing to express. A real work of art destroys . . . the separation between himself and the artist - not that alone, but also between himself and all whose minds receive this work of art. In this freeing of our personality from its separation and isolation, in this uniting of it with others, lies the chief characteristic and the great attractive force of art."
-Leo Tolstoy
